Registration to the conference Space perceptions and realities

Organised by the junior laboratory “Space Ages” and Humanities group of the UniversEH project, the conference and take place on 13th December 2024 and will deal with the themes of “Space perceptions and imaginary(ies)” and “the New Space Age”. Several surveys have indeed been conducted on the thematic of “space perceptions” by the members of the UNIVERSEH Alliance. They first trace the history of women, youngsters, countries, etc. within the space sciences and space exploration. They then analyze the way intersecting human relations and social variables —gender, age, race, class…—have been, are and will be affected by, contested and/or reinforced through the space exploration. In other words, we will aim to focus on the evolution of the imaginary or imaginaries surrounded the space activities. On the other hand, we will question the idea of a New Space Age, between myth and reality.

The conference is also available for online participation. The Zoom link will be shared a few days before the event.
